If ever there was a year when we need some festive cheer, it’s 2020. So, for our annual advent calendar of Q&As with the region’s businesspeople, we’ve tried to focus on what brings you joy.

If you could give a one-line shout out to your team, for how they’ve handled this year, what would you say?

Thank you for your care and attention and going the extra mile to ensure our students do the best they can.

Were you guilty of any lockdown splurges?

Yes, a hot tub now takes up half my garden.

In fewer than 50 words, summarise three things your business has to look forward to, in 2021.

Working towards becoming a net zero carbon college by reducing our carbon emissions and making our own energy. Working with local high schools to ensure students understand what options they have at college after their GCSE’s and working with local businesses to support them with their skills and employment needs.

Which business do you think has gone above and beyond, this year?

Morrison’s supermarket.

What’s your oldest Christmas memory?
Waking up on Christmas morning and finding that Santa had left me a new bike.

What’s the one thing you could never be without, on your Christmas dinner plate?

Roast potatoes.

What are you most looking forward to, about Christmas 2020?

Uninterrupted family fun for three days.

2020 has reminded me the things that are most valuable cannot be bought or rushed. I look forward to using my lessons of 2020 to ensure I continue to spend quality time with those I love having fun and building memories.
