Christmas Spotlight: Caroline Pullich

If ever there was a year when we need some festive cheer, it’s 2020. So, for our annual advent calendar of Q&As with the region’s businesspeople, we’ve tried to focus on what brings you joy.

Every day in December, we’ll invite someone into the Christmas spotlight, with 10 quickfire questions…

Next up, it’s Caroline Pullich, Head of SME - Yorkshire, for Barclays …

Complete the sentence: “If there’s one thing 2020 has taught me, it’s…”

To have resilience & maintain a positive mind-set at all times.

If you could give a one-line shout out to your team, for how they’ve handled this year, what would you say?

Well Done Team Yorkshire- I’m proud of the support you’ve provided to our customers to help them through this unprecedented time.

Were you guilty of any lockdown splurges?

Absolutely lots of Pink Gin

In fewer than 50 words, summarise three things your business has to look forward to, in 2021.

1) Supporting our clients with their recovery and growth plans - looking at the challenges and opportunities ahead and being prepared for them.
2) Continuing the support and wellbeing of all our colleagues who have worked relentlessly to support their customers.
3)After embracing remote working we are looking forward to seeing the use of more enhanced technology and virtual meetings. Our digital technology gets better and better and it is key to ensure that we educate our clients of all ages and especially our vulnerable customers.

Which business do you think has gone above and beyond, this year?

I couldn’t pick one out as that would be unfair. I have seen several businesses diversify and support the NHS getting PPE out very quickly utilising the machinery and premises they already hold.

What’s your oldest Christmas memory?

Waking up in the middle of the night looking at presents under the tree trying to work out what they were - praying it was something to do with a Sindy Doll. It was actually a house and a Sindy Car!

What’s the one thing you could never be without, on your Christmas dinner plate?

Pigs in Blankets

What’s your favourite Christmas tipple, film and tune?

Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne, A Wonderful Life and Elvis Presley In the Ghetto

What are you most looking forward to, about Christmas 2020?

I would really love to spend it with my family however if it is Richard and myself then that will be lovely too.

And a message to your friends, family, colleagues and peers as they welcome in 2021?

Thank You for all your continued support and I wish everyone a better year in 2021 - I can’t wait to see our customers and stakeholders for a wine and a catch up– it’s been far too long!
