If ever there was a year when we need some festive cheer, it’s 2020. So, for our annual advent calendar of Q&As with the region’s businesspeople, we’ve tried to focus on what brings you joy.

Every day in December, we’ll invite someone into the Christmas spotlight, with 10 quickfire questions…
Next up, it’s Adrian Inman, Director/Founder from aFinite…

Complete the sentence: “If there’s one thing 2020 has taught me...

It’s that recruiting the right people into your business matters more than ever. Having the right team is key to delivering great service which reflects back in the long term”

If you could give a one-line shout out to your team, for how they’ve handled this year, what would you say?

Thank you, and onward to the next challenge

Were you guilty of any lockdown splurges?

Not as far as I’m aware of, though I did start watching My Family from the start again on iPlayer for about a week.

In fewer than 50 words, summarise three things your business has to look forward to, in 2021.

We are looking to consolidate on our success and growth over the past few years with a new website and marketing activity as we look to work with new clients.

Which business do you think has gone above and beyond, this year?

Real Junk Food Project created a Pay as You Feel, zero-waste supermarket during the Covid-19 pandemic - I think that made a huge difference to many thousands of lives when they needed it the most.

What’s your oldest Christmas memory?

Waking up before my Mum and Dad on Christmas morning and sneaking downstairs to look at all the presents under the tree

What’s the one thing you could never be without, on your Christmas dinner plate?

Pigs in blankets

What’s your favourite Christmas tipple, film and tune?

I’m not really a drinker, but usually a glass of champagne, Die Hard and Mariah Carey’s All I want for Christmas of course

What are you most looking forward to, about Christmas 2020?

Spending quality time with family and seeing the look on my children’s faces when they open their presents

And a message to your friends, family, colleagues and peers as they welcome in 2021?

While we have all adapted to 2020, I think we can all look forward to life beginning to get back to normal in 2021.
