Bolton Wanderers Vs Wrexham Preview

Bolton Wanderers return to the Toughsheet with a visit from newly promoted Wrexham.

Under the stewardship of former Whites manager Phil Parkinson, the Reds are still on a high after their double ascent from the National League to the third tier, and like Wanderers’, their League One campaign got off to a perfect start after a 2-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers.

Wrexham's first away game back in the third tier is against Ian Evatt's men, and the highly tipped side will be hoping to continue their 100% start against last season play-off finalists.

In their fourth season at the third level, Bolton will be hoping this time around will see their return to the Championship. Arrivals have been of plenty as another squad is being built by Evatt to have another crack of promotion and a return to the second tier for the first time since 2019.

Wanderers were victorious in their opening encounter against Leyton Orient before following it up, albeit on penalties, with progression in the EFL Cup after victory over Mansfield Town.

In an encounter that has seen over 25,000 tickets sold for the occasion, two hotly-tipped sides face off in an enthralling League One encounter that is sure to have a needle even so early on into the campaign.

Sky Sports will broadcast this game live on Sunday, August 18.
