Bolton Vs Exeter: Match Preview

After a confidence-boosting and assertive victory in Shropshire in the cup on Tuesday evening, Bolton Wanderers return to League One action as Exeter visit the Toughsheet.

An indifferent start to league action sees the Whites lingering midway down the table at this early stage, with a wake-up call being dealt on Saturday after a 2-0 defeat to Charlton at The Valley.

Despite holding the lion's share of possession, the solitary league win will be of disappointment to all, and fortunes in the league will have to chance, and a perfect opportunity is presented to bounce back.

Exeter has consolidated themselves as a solid League One outfit after promotion three seasons ago; however, they have begun this campaign slowly after defeats to Peterborough and Northampton, following on from a superb 1-0 victory over recently relegated Rotherham.

Similar to Bolton, City is a team that thrives on maintaining possession of the ball and creating opportunities. Despite their lack of success, this means Bolton must remain vigilant at all times.

The corresponding fixture last season saw Bolton thrash Exeter 7-0 before a 2-2 draw in Devon.

This match takes place on Saturday, August 31st, at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
