As the sporting calendar approaches a crucial juncture, the outcome of this exciting midweek of sports could potentially lead to either glory or despair.
Tuesday, 19th May Premier League: Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur 20:15
With each passing match week, the argument for and possibility of Tottenham Hotspur's relegation become increasingly real. This week is vital for the North Londoners as they look to steer the ship away from a first relegation since the 1977-78 season.
Spurs come into the match narrowly ahead of West Ham following the Hammers’ loss to Newcastle at St James’ Park. Just two points separate the two London sides, meaning De Zerbi has to go into the match with the aim of a second win at Stamford Bridge since 1990.
Chelsea are also in desperate need of a win to break into the top eight and go one step closer to the top eight and a place in European competition next season. A congested pack, where just three points separate 13th and 8th, exists.
The Blues sit in tenth and share the task of needing a win to catch Brentford in the Conference League place. Their superior goal difference would ensure they overtake The Bees, which puts even more pressure on them to win.
Alongside the need for points, Chelsea will seek more than seasonal success, aiming to potentially put a nail in the coffin of a Spurs team that could create history in a match that could be devastating.

Thursday 21st May BetMGM Premier League: Luke Humphries v Michael van Gerwen, 19:40
It is the 16th and final night of the regular darts Premier League season, and while the top four are confirmed, there is still pride on the line and a peek into what could be on the cards when the playoffs begin.
We have picked out a quarter-final bout between fourth-placed Luke Humphries and fifth-placed Michael van Gerwen in a battle where either Humphries can prove his top four credentials or van Gerwen can show what the playoffs could be missing without him.
Luke Humphries has faced significant competition for his playoff spot, as he appeared to be out of contention until a remarkable turnaround in form led him to three consecutive finals, allowing him to surpass van Gerwen.
The most important of the finals was last week in Birmingham, where Humphries eased past Bunting in the quarters and similarly dispatched rival and league leader Luke Littler 6-3 in the semis.
It was then onto the final where he faced fellow playoff finisher Gerwyn Price; despite a strong display from the Welshman, Humphries battled through and won the night with a 6-4 victory.
Van Gerwen had a very strong start to the campaign, with a win in night one, which was followed by a final appearance in night two. Since then he has only made two finals, which both ended unsuccessfully. Ultimately, the Dutchman's lack of final appearances, despite his significant involvement in semi-final ties, has resulted in him narrowly missing out on the playoffs.
The pressure may well be off for both coming into this one, with the freedom to play without fighting for a spot, with the playoffs having already been decided in night 15. But a good end for Gerwen and a positive start to the final stage will be on the mind with what promises to be a new one.
Friday 22nd May Betfred Super League: Leeds Rhinos v Huddersfield Giants, 20:00
The Super League is still roaring on, with the halfway point in sight and all to play for, as a Yorkshire derby between Leeds and Huddersfield could have implications for both the top and bottom of the league.
Leeds Rhinos have had a storming campaign so far, having accrued eight wins from 11 matches, which has them on 16 points and currently sitting in second place.
They were holding firm as league leaders until a meeting with Wigan at the weekend saw the Rhinos fall to a 24-4 defeat. A win for St Helens against Leeds’ upcoming opponents Huddersfield secured the Saints a place in top spot after leapfrogging the Rhinos.
Prior to that defeat, Leeds were flying high and on a roll with a five-match winning streak in Super League. Leeds will be looking to maintain their good form despite the setback against Wigan, while negotiations regarding star player Brodie Croft's ongoing links with Warrington Wolves continue in the background.
Huddersfield's 2026 season has been drastically different, far removed from the top six, with only two wins from eleven matches, leaving them with four points and at the bottom of the league.
As previously mentioned, their last outing ended with a 18-26 defeat at home to St Helens, which compounded a run that has seen them lose four on the spin.
The Giants' two wins came back-to-back between March and April, where they manufactured a stunning 34-16 away win over Wigan and another solid display against York, where they won 34-14.
Both teams, having suffered losses, are seeking redemption. Leeds must maintain their position among the top two, while Huddersfield must cultivate a more positive attitude to avoid falling to the bottom of the league.
