Tuesday 2nd June Twenty20 International Women: England v India 18:30.

It is the series decider for England women against India after a turbulent previous two matches that saw England cement a comeback in the second test.

India looked set to take the series in the first test, where they positively outplayed England, going in to win by 38 runs.

The performance in the first test, which left much to be desired, jeopardised the preparation for the T20 World Cup. Chelmsford signalled a deceptively bright start for England when Lauren Bell took two wickets in the first over.

That ease was not to last, however, as India took 27 from the second over, which was the start of a dominant display that saw them romp to victory.

Freya Kemmo led England's resurgence in both batting and bowling, marking a significant improvement in their fortunes in Bristol.

After a prolonged period of injury, Kemp demonstrated his exceptional skills, providing England with optimism not only for the final test but also for the upcoming World Cup on June 12th.

Having avoided the possibility of losing the series before the third test, England now has the opportunity to conclude their preparations with a strong comeback victory in Taunton, which could position them favourably for the upcoming major tournament.

Thursday 4th June Betfred Super League: Leeds Rhinos v St Helens 20:00

The Super League table is getting increasingly tight at both ends; this week we start our look at the top tier of rugby league with a battle between first and third as table-topping Leeds looks to keep their stay at the summit with St Helens visiting Headingley Stadium.

The Rhinos are only clinging on to the top of the league on points difference, with all of the top three on 18 points apiece. They've lost just three of nine matches, and one of their last seven, so they're in good form.

A 24-4 loss to Wigan in mid-May was their only recent blip, with their last match being an imperious 52-0 win against strugglers Huddersfield Giants.

Saints are in similarly positive form with just one league loss in eight matches; that loss will be a hard one to take, though, as they travelled to West Yorkshire again to face Castleford Tigers in a match they were expected to win comfortably.

Instead, it was an embarrassment at Wheldon Road as the Tigers, who sat toward the bottom of the league, dismantled the favourites by 20 points, winning 30-10.

A win is even more important in this one, not only to create room between Saints and Leeds but also to limit the potential damage posed by Warrington, who currently sit in second with fewer games played. If one were to lose and the Wolves win their game in hand, they could end up far behind in the current three-horse race for the league leaders' shield.

Friday 5th June Betfred Super League: Bradford Bulls v York Knights 20:00

From a War of the Roses clash to a Yorkshire derby now as two of Super League’s new boys clash.

Bradford, historically one of the biggest sides in rugby league, has had a stop-start return to the top tier. Their season began positively, following a defeat to Hull FC on matchday one, with consecutive home victories against the two French teams, Catalans Dragons and Toulouse.

Since then, their campaign has failed to reach the heights, and The Bulls have only picked up another two wins from ten matches.

After a barren run of five straight losses, a win did finally come on match week ten when they got revenge on Hull FC by beating them 16-14. It was back to losing ways last time out as they fell to a 26-12 defeat to high-flying Warrington.

York has had a less-than-stellar maiden season in the Super League, with just three wins so far this season. A titanic win on opening day for defending quadruple winners Hull KR got many people thinking they had underestimated the Knights.

Instead, their recent performance has followed the expected trajectory, resulting in only one win out of their last nine matches. Their last victory came against another newly appointed top-flight side, Toulouse, in late April. Since then it has been three losses on the spin and no points picked up, which has left them in 12th place and two points behind their upcoming opponents.

A win for either team may not significantly alter their standings in the table, but it will boost their confidence as they navigate a new era in the Super League.
