As the UK faces life under tougher measures, the World Health Organisation is warning that the coronavirus pandemic is accelerating as the number of cases globally exceeds 300,000.

In Spain - where the country’s death toll has rocketed to over 2,300 with more than 35,000 confirmed infections - airport and port closures have been stepped up to try to slow the spread of the virus.
