Bluey Live: Puppets, Pandemonium And Pure Joy For The Whole Pack
From the moment we booked our tickets, my five-year-old had been on countdown for weeks to see Bluey live on stage. Each morning brought another excited reminder of how many sleeps were left—and when the big day finally arrived at The Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent, it absolutely lived up to expectations.
My child remained completely captivated from beginning to end. The stunning puppets were nothing short of magical, bringing Bluey, Bingo and the whole family to life with remarkable expression and charm. The performers behind them deserve enormous credit; the characters felt as vibrant and animated as they do on screen.
At its heart, the show delivers a lovely story about overcoming sibling differences and that all-too-familiar childhood desire for parental attention. It’s handled in a light-hearted, playful way that keeps things accessible for younger viewers while gently weaving in themes that adults will recognise and appreciate. The theatre was filled with laughter throughout, with children squealing in delight and parents chuckling along at the wonderfully observed family dynamics.
There was plenty of opportunity for the audience to recall key moments from the series and join in with the memorable songs, which only added to the sense of shared excitement in the room. Watching hundreds of little voices singing together was genuinely heartwarming.
Perfectly pitched for its target audience — and their accompanying grown-ups — this production captures everything families love about Bluey: warmth, humour, imagination and just the right amount of chaos. For us, it wasn’t just a show; it was a long-awaited event that delivered joy from curtain up to curtain call.
