Wine And Cheese Tasting Experiences Can Now Be Delivered To Your Door In Lancashire

A new wine and cheese tasting experience, delivered straight to your door, has launched in Lancashire.

Already available across many other parts of the UK, Decent Drop offers customers a unique experience where a tailored menu of six wines, paired with six cheeses are sent to customers who are then invited to join an interactive Zoom tasting session or host their own wine and cheese night with their friends and family.

Created by former bar owner Carl Peters, Decent Drop (@decentdropwines) allows customers to have a tasting experience without leaving the comfort of their own home. Those taking part simply purchase their desired evening from the Decent Drop website and have the option to have a DIY tasting or to join the Zoom call.

The Zoom tasting sessions take place on Saturday evenings at 7.30pm and run for around 90 minutes. The informal video call, part of the experience, enables customers to discover a little more about the wine, the pairings and helps them to discover what their preferences are.

Carl Peters, owner of Decent Drop, said:
“As the lockdown of 2020 drew over us like a dark, publess cloud back in March, we decided to get great wine and cheese out to the good folks of Great Britain.

“We’ve seen an amazing response and our Zoom calls have been busy with customers really enjoying the tastings. We’re delighted to launch in Lancashire and we can’t wait to see some locals taking part in the experience.”

Decent Drop’s wine menu comprises of a broad range of red, white and rose wines and six British artisan or continental cheeses. Both the wine and cheese menu changes regularly, so those that enjoy the experience can revisit for a new menu and fresh pairings at a later date.

Carl continues:
“Our main aim is to bring a unique experience to those who may not have tried this kind of thing before. We wanted to ensure an offering that was both fun and informative and could serve as a kind of ‘night out’ from your living room.

“We don’t expect people to have any prior knowledge about wines and cheeses before they order and join the zoom tastings – although of course, Winos are always welcome and they usually bring some great contributions to the virtual tasting table!”

A wine and cheese two-person pack costs £50 (£27 for a one-person pack) and includes crackers, chutney, and full tasting notes compiled by in-house wine guru Ian Howard (@thatwinefella). Once customers order on the website, Decent Drop will organise delivery, generally for Saturday morning.

Decent Drop offer Gin and Tonic tasting kits, as well as gift vouchers, which are perfect for a Birthday or Christmas present. They also offer private Zoom tasting experiences and corporate packages which are an ideal solution for this year’s office Christmas parties.

The upcoming Zoom tasting sessions, which customers can join are as follows:

Sat 17th October - 7.30pm - Organic Wines
Sat 24th October - 7.30pm - Organic Wines
Sat 31st October - 7.30pm - Hallowine special!
