Monday 6th October, Sky Bet League Two, Harrogate Town v Crewe Alexandra, 20:00

League Two is the home of Monday night football this week, as Harrogate hosts Crewe Alexandra in a mid-table clash.

Simon Weaver’s Harrogate Town are currently toward the bottom end of mid-table in sixteenth place following 14 points from ten matches.

A solid start from Town includes most recently back-to-back wins over strugglers Shrewsbury and an impressive 1-0 away victory over current playoff contenders Gillingham.

Crewe are slightly better off thus far with two more points than Town, with 16, which puts them in 12th place.

They are also just two points off the playoffs, but their recent form has left a lot to be desired, with just one win from their last six matches in league action, which was their latest fixture over Notts County that they won 2-1.

While Harrogate do have the better recent form, it will have to be something special to overcome Crewe, which are a side that Town have never beaten in a league fixture, with the last time the two sides met ending in a 1-1 stalemate.

Date: 06/10/2025

Time: 20:00

Venue: Exercise Stadium, Harrogate

The match will be shown on Sky Sports Football.

Tuesday, October 7th, BoyleSports World Grand Prix: Luke Littler vs. Gian van Veen (20:00)

The PDC darts calendar continues to provide dramatic tournaments and stellar matchups, with this week being the World Grand Prix, another competition that sees the best of the best pitted against each other.

Littler is certainly in that bracket with his world number two ranking and already a litany of trophies collected since his breakout year in 2024. In recent months, he has added back-to-back World Series of Darts victories down under and another European title added to the collection in the form of the Flanders Darts Trophy.

Littler has been almost impregnable in his play this year with just ten losses since the start of May. It seems his hunger for success has yet to be quelled, and he is ready to take on all comers.

One of the few losses in the past few months for Littler was against his upcoming opponent, van Veen, who has recently sneaked into the top 15 of the world rankings for the first time. He has been a regular in PDC events since getting his tour card in 2022 and managed to add another title in 2025 with a Players Championship win.

Van Veen has been somewhat of a bogey opponent for Littler, with three back-to-back wins over the youngster in 2025, including a 6-4 win in the European Tour in early September.

Date: 07/10/2025

Time: 20:00

Venue: Mattioli Arena, Leicester

The match will be shown on PDCTV.

Thursday 9th October: International friendly, England v Wales, 19:45

The international break is back with England taking on their home nation's neighbours, Wales, at Wembley Stadium.

It will be another test for Tuchel’s men, who are returning to play following a surprise 5-0 battering of Serbia in early September. The match saw five different goal scorers and was a real showing of team cohesion at a time when some parts of fans were unimpressed with Tuchel's tactics in narrow wins over Andorra and a 3-1 loss to Senegal.

Despite some disappointing performances, England still has a solid record of two losses and ten wins in 12 matches. Wales, on the other hand, have had a less successful time recently with two losses in their last three fixtures.

Their most recent matchup was a closely fought 1-0 loss to Canada in another friendly in Swansea, which was separated by a 41st-minute Cornelius goal.

The record between the two is one that is heavily weighed in England’s favour, with the last time Wales triumphed being a 1-0 win in the British Home Championship in 1984. Since then it has been England with the bragging rights, with the Three Lions not conceding to the Red Dragons since Euro 2016.

Date: 09/10/2025

Time: 19:45

Venue: Wembley Stadium

The match will be shown on ITV1.
