If you are fancying another midweek full of nail-biting sports then we have just the selection for you to sink your teeth into from across a variety of sports and teams.
Here is what’s on this week…
Monday 14th July World Rugby U20 Championship: England v Wales 14:30
England fight
Wales in a home nations clash in a fifth-place playoff semi final as defending champions England failed to get the points required to make it to the semi-finals proper and defend their title.
Despite Mapletoft’s men claiming a win over Australia in their final Pool A match, they still were unable to progress due to Argentina gaining a try bonus point in their defeat to France. The England side will be ruing their opening loss to South Africa in which they gained no bonus point and were therefore reliant on results elsewhere.
Wales struggled more in Pool B as they were handed losses to both Argentina and France before getting their only victory over Spain in the final pool match.
The young England men have a solid record against Wales having beaten them in their previous four meetings in the competition, but this years Six Nations brought a change as the Welshman halted England’s grand slam hopes in the final round with a 23-13 victory.

Wednesday, 16th July One-day international: England W vs. India W 13:00
India defeated
England 3-2 in the T20 at the weekend, giving England a chance to redeem themselves in Southampton before the
World Cup on Wednesday.
Their last meeting on Saturday saw England claim a consolation victory, winning by five wickets in what ended up being an edgy last-ball display at Edgbaston.
While India was defeated in the final test, they ran out convincing winners in the previous games, which left some concerned about England's prowess going forward, especially considering India made vital mistakes in the final meeting that England was able to capitalise on.
Despite the tricky test overall, England will be hoping the cricket played on Saturday can be replicated, as India showed cracks in what was overall a stellar display from them, with Alex Hartley saying India had “walked the series even though England had won two games.”
While their performance on the field may have been lacklustre, England’s two victories do show that they are able to claim victory when not playing at their best, which will hopefully be a sign of things to come.

Thursday, 17th July, Betfred Super League: St. Helens v. Leigh Leopards, 20:00
Week by week, the
Super League is taking shape, with another top-of-the-table clash between third-placed
Leigh and recent fourth-spot takers
St. Helens.
The Saints put on a solid defensive display against the
Leeds Rhinos at Headingley over the weekend with a 6-0 win that saw them leapfrog the Rhinos into the fourth spot. While not a blockbuster, the game showed Saints had the tenacity to go toe-to-toe with one of the most in-form sides in the league that was coming off the back of an impressive victory over league leaders Hull KR.
That victory put them level on points with the Rhinos and only one point behind their upcoming opponents, Leigh, but the Saints do have the upper hand when it comes to points difference, as Leigh surprisingly have just the sixth-best points difference at 39, whereas the Saints are excelling with a 285 difference, the third highest in the division.
Leigh is also heading into this fixture after a highly impressive victory, as they handed Hull KR their second consecutive defeat in a 28-10 home win. That victory followed another great performance and victory over second-place
Wigan Warriors.
The Leopards have only lost one of their last six fixtures and have shown their worth against sides at the top. Their credentials as being a new contender in the top six mix have been all but confirmed in recent weeks, and another victory here over Saints would be crucial in their hunt for another successful season and the blunting of a playoff rival's momentum.

We dip into the
Championship on Friday with another clash at the top of the league, with third-placed
Bradford welcoming
Oldham, who sit just one place and two points behind them.

The Bulls will be full of confidence, having just smashed bottom-of-the-league
Hunslet 34-0, but their recent form prior had been patchy, with wins over
Doncaster and
Batley intertwined with two narrow losses to ttps://www.yorkrlfc.com/ and
Barrow.
With a huge win close in the memory, the fans will likely turn up again in numbers to the Odsal, where a bumper crowd enjoyed them dismantle Hunslet.
Oldham have been in better form recently with back-to-vback wins over fellow playoff chasers
Halifax and a 22-4 home victory over strugglers
Widnes. Oldham are enjoying an impressive season back in the Championship, having dominated
League One in 2024 with a single loss and a 741-point difference.
In a league full of former Super League big hitters, Oldham have been a surprise package with their propensity at a higher level and now have the chance to construct back-to-back success with a victory over Bradford. The Bulls have the chance to reclaim their spot as one of the best outside the top division, having been a stalwart of the Super League since its inception and a bonafide Rugby League giant since the sport was devised.
