Valencia Opens Its Doors To UK Travellers

Valencia in Spain stands poised and ready to welcome UK holidaymakers back to it’s warm Mediterranean waters following the government's changes to international travel rules from amber list countries.

From today July, UK travellers who have been fully vaccinated will no longer need to quarantine on return from Valencia. Upon entry, travellers are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test or proof of double vaccination.

Providing excellent options for both a summer family holiday and cultural city break
Valencia is easily accessible from the UK, Manchester, London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports. Ryanair, British Airways and easyJet all provide direct services to Valencia Airport (VLC) with fares starting from £46 return and, in just over two hours, travellers can enjoy strolling along one of 153 blue flag beaches and tucking into a dish of traditional paella.

10 reasons to visit Valencia this summer:

1.Guaranteed sunshine - 300 days of sunshine a year and average temperatures of 25 degrees in July, August and September makes it the ideal year-round holiday destination.
2.Access to green spaces - Designed by locals for locals, Valencia’s most famous park - River Turia - has been transformed from a disused riverbed into a 5-mile park winding through the city centre and perfect for walking, cycling and sightseeing.
3.2,000 years of history - Founded in 138BC by the Romans, Valencia is one of Spain’s oldest settlements and takes influence from Roman, Visigothic, Muslim and Medieval cultures that can be seen throughout the city’s architecture.
4.Expansive beaches - Valencia has over 12 miles of sand and sea to explore. From the family-friendly options of Cabanyal, Malvarrosa and Patacona, to those steeped in nature, such as El Saler, La Devesa and La Garrofera.
5.Off-grid beauty - Home to the narrowest building in Europe, the San Nicolas Church, Valencia is full of hidden charm. Add the Plaza Redonda, Santa Catalina Church, Santos Juanes Church and San Vicente Parish to a walking trail.

6.Authentic Mediterranean cuisine – Home to seven Michelin stars and high profile chefs, including Richard Camarena and Manuel Alonso, the Valencians take their produce from fertile surrounding lands. A visit to the Central Market is the perfect place to begin a tapas trail with over 40 market stalls to sample the country’s authentic and internationally renowned paella.
7.Street art - Explore the city's old district and wander the streets taking in colourful wall murals adorning the walls of crumbling buildings.
8.Ancient culture - Valencia’s gothic cathedral is one of the city’s most famous architectural sights and home to a chalice claimed by many to be the genuine Holy Grail.
9.Bike friendly - Flat with plenty of bike lanes, Valencia is the perfect city to explore on two wheels - the Old Town trail to the port is a must.
10.Great wildlife - Albufera National Park is home to the largest lake in Spain and one of the most important wetland areas on the whole Iberian peninsula. Locals fish here and visitors will enjoy the birdlife and boat trips.
