The 2026 Formula 1 Calendar Is Revealed

Formula 1 will again be a truly global sport next year
Formula 1 will again be a truly global sport next year
Formula 1’s commercial rights holder, FOM, and the sport’s governing body, the FIA, have today revealed the 2026 calendar, which will again feature 24 Grands Prix. The action will begin in Melbourne, Australia on 8 March and will conclude in Abu Dhabi on 6 December.

China will follow the season-opener as a double-header, with Japan to be a standalone event, before the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian rounds follow after the ending of Ramadan. In May the Canadian Grand Prix will now clash with the iconic Indianapolis 500 race, after having been brought forward to enhance logistical requirements with the preceding Miami weekend. The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix has been dropped from the calendar for now at least.

Monaco has always sought to host its Formula 1 round in late May, but the event will now take place in early June, and this will be followed by a race at Barcelona, a venue which has one F1 event remaining on its current contract. The latter has yet to be given an official title as the Spanish Grand Prix moniker will transfer to a new circuit in Madrid with effect from next season, close to its IFEMA international conference centre. After the summer break, the final Dutch Grand Prix will take place at Zandvoort and this will be followed by a double-header at Monza and Madrid.

The season will then build to a crescendo, with a sextet of rounds in seven weeks featuring a pair of triple-headers. There’s also likely to be six Sprint races again next year and, to assist with the arrival of 2026’s new cars and power units, there will be a trio of three-day pre-season tests in Barcelona and Bahrain.
