Silver Screen Weekly - What's Coming Up At The Cinema From Friday 8th September 2023

Our film critic and media correspondent has been looking and trawling the new releases. Here's what you can see on the big screen this week.

From Friday 8th September

The Nun II (15)
This next instalment in The Conjuring Universe, from director Michael Cahves, is set to be one of its most spine-tingling, as this follow up to the first hit 2018 Nun spin-ff film, continues to develop the story of our favourite blasphemous demonic entity. As this tale, set four years after the first film, sees Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) once more come face to face with the demon Valek (Bonnie Aarons) at a boarding school in France. Critics are praising this sequel as far superior to the first film, and far more terrifying, as this horror legend of cinema looks set to unleash even more hell!

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (15)
The love and laughs are back! Starring, written by and this time directed by original star/writer Nia Vardalos, and produced by Tom Hanks, this third entry in the beloved romantic/comedy series sees the Portokalos family head to Greece for a family reunion after the death of Gus. Seven years on from the last film, and 21 years on from the first, this is our chance to reunite with the Portokalos' once again, in what is sure to be a delight for fans and a cinematic get together worth remembering!
