Silver Screen Weekly - What's Coming Up At The Cinema From Friday 29th September 2023

Our film critic and media correspondent has been looking and trawling the new releases. Here's what you can see on the big screen this week.

From Friday 29th September

SAW X (18)
Let the games begin…again. As Jigsaw’s gruesome return is upon us in Saw X. Despite being the tenth instalment in the hit horror franchise, Saw X is set between the first and second film. This brutal entry in the series, sees the terminally ill trap-setting serial killer John Kramer aka Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) offered a chance at a miracle cure for his cancer. But when he finds that this "treatment" is a cruel scam, he turns the tables on these scammers, bringing them into his twisted game of survival. This could be the horror movie of the year and is being excitedly discussed as a return to the very best origins of the Saw series. Big surprises and innovative death traps are on the cards for this very timely and unique story, that has to be seen to be believed...even if you may be watching through your fingers. Could this be the best Saw film since the very first?
