Silver Screen Weekly - What's Coming Up At The Cinema From Friday 20 October 2023

Our film critic and media correspondent has been looking and trawling the new releases. Here's what you can see on the big screen this week.

From Friday 20th October

Killers Of The Flower Moon (15)
Revered director Martin Scorsese returns to the big screen with one of his greatest achievements in all of his unmatched career in cinema. Based on the 2017 book by David Grann and the true story of the Osage Nation Oklahoma murders of the 1920s that inspired it, the directorial legend's latest piece of cinematic craft is an epic western crime drama that is being called one of his finest pieces of work. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone, the film sees oil discovered on tribal land and a series of murders follow, as a major FBI investigation gets underway and one woman at the centre of the conflict sees the very ugly truth at play, as another man is torn between family and love. Co-starring Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser and Tantoo Cardinal, this towering achievement is a fierce and compelling dissection of equally turbulent history, greed and atrocity.
