Silver Screen Weekly - What's Coming Up At The Cinema From Friday 15th September 2023

Our film critic and media correspondent has been looking and trawling the new releases. Here's what you can see on the big screen this week.

From Friday 15th September 2023

A Haunting in Venice (12a)
Director/star Kenneth Branagh returns to the world and role of Hercule Poirot, for this very different addition to the franchise inspired by the writings of the legendary Agatha Christie. Inspired by her lesser famed 1969 novel Hallowe’en Party, A Haunting in Venice takes things to a supernatural horror route, as a seance results in a murder, and the detective must discover whether this is the work of the living or dead, potentially throwing his whole system of belief into question. Starring Branagh, alongside a sterling cast that includes, Michelle Yeah, Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Kelly Reilly, Kyle Allen and Camille Cotton, this whodunnit takes the series to darker, scarier and more thrilling depths than ever, and critics are calling A Haunting in Venice the best of Branagh’s Poirot adaptations so far!
