Silver Screen Weekly - What's Coming Up At The Cinema From Friday 10 November 2023

Our film critic and media correspondent has been looking and trawling the new releases. Here's what you can see on the big screen this week.

From Friday 10th November

The Marvels (12a)
In this latest entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Marvels sees a crop of new heroes and old ones, in the ultimate fight. Director Nia DaCosta's (Candyman) new ensemble MCU superhero blockbuster sees Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel team up with Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau for a body-swapping mind-bending adventure, that will bring them together or tear them apart. As a new force has torn a hole in the universe and threatens to bring everything crashing down. Co-starring Samuel L. Jackson and featuring action aplenty, fun and a dimension-warping plot, as well as our favourite alien cat's return in the almighty Goose, The Marvels is the superhero team-up you have been waiting for!

Dream Scenario (15)
In writer/director Kristoffer Borgli, we see Nicolas Cage in our dreams!! In this dark comedy fantasy, a hapless family man and teacher Paul (Cage) finds himself at the very centre of celebrity fame, when inexplicably millions of strangers all over start seeing him in their dreams. Initially a wild ride for this man, things soon take a nightmarish turn however, as Paul navigates the darkness that comes with the cult of celebrity. Many are calling Dream Scenario a future classic, with Cage’s performance being called a true tour de force. You many not see a more fascinating and entertains film this year!
