Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullvian was presented with five official Guinness World Records certificates following his debut appearance at the World Seniors Snooker Championship.

The presentation, which took place backstage at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, celebrated ‘one of the most decorated and influential careers in the history of the sport’.

On Ronnie O’Sullivan’s career, Guinness World Records adjudicator Rebecca Ward said: “What makes record-breaking so special is its ability to inspire people. Ronnie’s career is a brilliant example of what can be achieved through talent, dedication and constantly pushing boundaries, and we hope moments like these encourage others to challenge themselves and be part of it too.

One of the five world record certificates that O’Sullivan was awarded in Sheffield recognised his most recent achievement, which was the ‘highest break in snooker', which he achieved on 20th March 2026.

At the World Open in China, O’Sullivan achieved this new title after he made a break of 153, which surpassed the previous record of 151, which was set in 1976.

Alongside this immense achievement, O’Sullivan was also presented with World Record certificates for the following achievements:
Fastest 147 break in snooker – 5 minutes 8 seconds, achieved on 21 April 1997
Most competitive 147 breaks in snooker – 17, achieved between 21 April 1997 and 15 August 2025
Most career ranking titles won in snooker – 41, achieved between 28 November 1993 and 21 January 2024
First snooker player to make 1,000 competitive centuries – achieved between 20 June 1992 and 10 March 2019

On his five newest world records, Guinness World Records adjudicator Rebecca Ward said: “Ronnie O’Sullivan has produced some of the most iconic moments in sporting history, so it’s a real privilege for Guinness World Records to recognise these achievements at the Crucible, a venue so closely tied to his career and legacy. From the fastest 147 break in snooker to this year’s incredible new highest break in snooker record, Ronnie has continued to redefine what’s possible in the sport across multiple decades at the very highest level.”

After more than three decades of playing in professional snooker competitions, O’Sullivan, who is regarded as one of the greatest ever snooker players, now holds 19 world record titles.

These titles include but are not limited to having won the most career ranking titles in the sport whilst also being both the youngest and oldest winner of the UK Championship.
