Property consultancy BTG Eddisons has strengthened its Sheffield valuations team with the appointment of senior surveyor
James Parkin. He joins from Cushman & Wakefield, where he worked across industrial, logistics, retail, and office assets. A chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer, Parkin graduated from Sheffield Hallam University and began his career in the city. The appointment follows increased client demand for valuation advice across South Yorkshire.
The Sheffield office also announced that
Jamie Lowe has passed his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) qualification to become a chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer, bringing the team's total number of registered valuers to three. Michael Goodare, director at BTG Eddisons in Sheffield, said: “James’ appointment is part of the wider expansion of our South Yorkshire operation and we are delighted to welcome another talented surveyor to the team.”

Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed
Oliver Batley as Head of Sales for its Asset Finance business. Batley brings nearly 14 years of industry experience to the role, having most recently served as Area Sales Director at Lloyds Banking Group within its commercial banking sales division. Based in Leeds with a national remit, he will manage an initial team of eight individuals. The appointment is intended to drive growth across broker and vendor channels while expanding the company's footprint into new sectors.

The Northern Counties Builders Federation (NCBF) has re-elected
Angela Carney as president for a term lasting until July 2027. Carney, who is the managing director at Carney Consultancy, has held the presidency since 2024 and possesses more than 35 years of construction industry experience. In her role, she will continue to focus on bridging the regional skills gap, promoting construction careers to women, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
She is supported by senior vice president Chris Morris, junior vice president Matthew McCarrick, and secretary Tony Kay. Commenting on her re-election, Carney said: “At a time when the Government is putting so much emphasis on the construction sector, the NCBF is involved in a range of very focussed, high-profile campaigns, that demonstrate the ambition, determination and passion member companies have to ensure it meets the region’s growth targets.”

Law firm Ward Hadaway has appointed
Helen Badger and
Gemma Lynch as partners within its employment law team. Joining from Browne Jacobson, both lawyers specialise in advising NHS trusts, independent healthcare providers, and health tech businesses across England and Wales. Badger focuses on complex employee relations and board-level workforce strategy, while Lynch specialises in employment tribunal claims and the workforce impacts of NHS organisational change.

Kim Rebecchi as Chair of the Bank, following the retirement of Euan Hamilton. Rebecchi has more than 40 years of experience in the sector, including a previous role as Commercial Director at Leeds Building Society, and has served on multiple financial boards. Her appointment aligns with the bank's "Human Digital" strategy, which balances technology with relationship-driven banking, and she will oversee governance and diversity initiatives.
