Miller Homes has announced the first round of donation of its 2026 Community Fund programme in the North West, with more than £5,000 already awarded to local charities and community groups across the region this year.

The latest recipient is Inspire, Chorley Youth Zone, which has received a £500 donation to support its ongoing work with young people across Chorley and surrounding areas.

Established in 2016, Inspire Youth Zone supports young people aged eight to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. Open seven days a week, the charity provides a wide range of activities including sport, creative arts, music production and skills development, all delivered from its purpose-built facility. Each year, the charity supports around 3,000 young people, welcoming more than 1,000 visits every week.

The donation from the Miller Homes Community Fund will contribute towards Inspire Youth Zone’s Sunday Thrive sessions, a specialist programme designed for young people with special educational needs and disabilities. These sessions provide a quieter environment with higher staff ratios, allowing carefully adapted activities to be delivered safely and inclusively.

Funding helps cover staffing costs for youth workers who lead sports, creative and social activities, ensuring young people can access the same high-quality experiences as mainstream sessions.

Gemma Bathurst-Whittle from Inspire Youth Zone said “The support from Miller Homes has made meaningful difference to the young people attending the charity. The donation has helped ensure Sunday Thrive sessions continue to offer a safe, supportive space where young people with additional needs can build confidence, develop friendships and feel part of their community.”

Since its launch in 2022, the Miller Homes Community Fund has donated more than £344,000 to community groups and charities across the North West, supporting projects focused on wellbeing, inclusion, education and grassroots support. The first-round of 2026 funding continues this commitment, with further donations set to be announced throughout the year.

Miller Homes works closely with communities surrounding its developments, using the Community Fund to support organisations that make a lasting, positive impact where its teams live and work.
