Madame Tussauds Blackpool marks Sir David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday with Eco Pledges from Local Pupils

Madame Tussauds Blackpool has celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday by inviting Year 6 pupils from Revoe Learning Academy, Blackpool to make environmentally friendly pledges in his honour.

On 8 May, the legendary broadcaster and natural historian will turn 100.

Fifty pupils spent the afternoon exploring the Promenade attraction, with a special focus on the David Attenborough area. There, they reflected on the legendary broadcaster’s lifelong impact on conservation and discussed the changes they could make in their own lives to help protect the planet.

Their pledges ranged from reducing plastic use to protecting local wildlife and encouraging their families to recycle more.

Janine Marshall, General Manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool, said: “It is an honour to have a figure of Sir David Attenborough in our attraction. He is loved by people of all ages, and his influence on how we understand and care for the natural world is extraordinary.
