A business club for owners of independent healthcare practices across the north west is being launched next week.
The Healthcare Club will bring together opticians, audiologists and podiatrists for peer learning sessions where they can discuss the challenges they face in areas such as recruitment, employment issues, marketing, tax, growth strategies and acquisitions, and gain expert advice.

The club is a joint initiative by north west law firm Bermans and Altrincham-based Myers La Roche, which specialises in helping owners of independent healthcare practices to grow, acquire and sell their businesses.

Its first meeting will take place from 9.30am to 11.30am on Monday, October 5 at Ringway Golf Club on Hale Road, Hale Barns, near Altrincham.

It is free to attend and will include refreshments, networking and a panel discussion followed by a Q&A session.

Speakers will include corporate solicitor Faizan Nayyar, of Bermans, Myers La Roche director Georgina Myers, executive leadership coach Charlotte Hayward and Andy Wilson from accounting and business advisory firm Ascendis Group, who will speak about tax planning.

Future events will be shaped by feedback from those attending about the topics that matter most to them.

Georgina said: “Running a successful healthcare practice involves much more than the clinical side, and we wanted to bring owners together so they can talk about the wider business challenges they face.

“The event will be an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day running of the practice, learn from specialists in the business side of healthcare and from each other, ask questions relevant to their situation and make new connections.

“It's intended to be relaxed and informative and is designed to be conversational so that people can leave with practical ideas they can take back into their businesses and a better understanding that they aren’t alone in dealing with some of these challenges.

“The emphasis is on peer learning, useful conversations and practical advice.”

Faizan said: “Most business owners spend years building value in their business, but not always the same amount of time preparing for what comes next.

“Whether they are taking their first steps into practice ownership, looking to grow through acquisition or attract investment, or thinking about a long-term exit strategy, the Healthcare Club is designed to bring together healthcare professionals and advisers to share experiences and insights, and make valuable connections that will help them build, grow and realise the full potential of their business.
