A Bewitching Halloween Adventure At BeWILDerwood
Our second trip to BeWILDerwood was even more magical than the first. This time, we returned to the woods for their Halloween festivities, and once again, it did not disappoint.
Set in the whimsical land of Boggle Village, home to the Boggles, Twiggles, and other fantastical creatures from Tom Blofeld’s books, BeWILDerwood offers a truly immersive outdoor adventure—and it’s perfect for spooky season.
From the moment we stepped into the forest, the spooky decorations and friendly costumed characters set the scene for a fun-filled day. Now familiar with the layout, my two children eagerly anticipated returning to the towering climbing structures, twisty mazes, and giant slides that had previously captivated them, and they once again proved to be a huge hit.
The outdoor space is a dream for energetic children. The giant slides, sky-high towers, and sprawling climbing frames offer endless opportunities to explore, climb, and imagine. The mazes had us all laughing and slightly lost (in the best way), and it was lovely to see my kids’ confidence grow as they led the way through the wobbly walkways and treetop bridges.
We also took time to join in some of the craft activities, which were a lovely addition to the day. That said, as the parent of very craft-loving children, I would have liked to see a broader range of creative options available. However, the inclusion of free face painting was a wonderful touch — the designs were fantastic, and both children were thrilled with their spooky new looks.
The Twig or Treat trail was a definite Halloween highlight. The storytelling, interactive elements, and seasonal silliness made it a magical experience. However, the Glow in the Dark trail undoubtedly stood out as the highlight of the entire day. As dusk approached, we strolled through a softly glowing forest, illuminated by lanterns, lights, and a sense of wonder. It was truly beautiful — a calm, enchanting end to an action-packed day.
Despite being there for over six hours, the time flew by — 11am became 5.30pm in what felt like the blink of an eye. The day was fun for all ages, with something for everyone, and it’s clear that BeWILDerwood continues to live up to its promise of immersive, imaginative play in the great outdoors.
Whether it's your first visit or your fifth, and whether you're braving the woods in spring or seeking a spooky autumn escape, Bewilderwood is a place where magical memories are made—and where you're never too old to join in the fun.
