Scala 2025 Annual Debate
Global supply chain and logistics consultancy, SCALA, has unveiled the line-up and theme of its 23rd Annual Supply Chain Debate. Bringing together senior supply chain leaders, the 2026 debate will see speakers from the likes of John Lewis Partnership, ASDA, and Mars debate: ‘Are third-party logistics providers the true heroes of the supply chain?’ and ‘Who is driving supply chain improvements and innovation?’.

At the same time, artificial intelligence, automation and sustainable practices are pushing the industry forward. The event will examine where improvements and innovations are emerging across the supply chain, and how industry leaders are strengthening resilience in response to recent events.

Chris Clowes, executive director at SCALA and chair of the debate, said: “The current state of geopolitics, international conflict and the persisting impact of climate change means global supply chains are facing a host of compounding challenges.
“With shipping journeys being rerouted and transport costs by land, sea and air steadily rising, the supply-chain shockwave from the conflict in the Middle East is expected to last well into the long-term.
“Amid such tumultuous times, third-party logistics are under immense pressure with labour shortages and the need for faster delivery. However, many have risen to the challenge by accelerating warehouse automation and robotics deployment. In other sectors, manufacturers have moved production closer to end markets to reduce exposure to geopolitical risk and keep systems functioning.
“This debate will celebrate the advances being made across the supply chain industry and the cutting-edge innovations shaping it, and ask questions about what’s next and how we deal with the current crises.”
The event will feature insightful discussions from figures at the forefront of the supply-chain industry, offering a broad range of perspectives on the issues currently facing supply chains and how they can move forward amid the current geopolitical storm.
Guests are invited to secure their tickets and embark on a day of insight and networking led by the SCALA team. The 2026 debate is proudly supported by Culina Group, XPO Logistics, GXO and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
