As we creep into November, the sporting drama still has nowhere to hide, as another week of sports is upon us. From international to national league football and cup rugby, we have what you need to get through another week.
Tuesday 11th November, Enterprise National League, York City v Rochdale, 19:45
The week starts in the National League with a battle of the top six as York City await the challenge of Rochdale at the LNER Community Stadium.
Rochdale are in their second season out of the professional leagues following their relegation in 2023, which ended a 102-year continuous stay in the Football League. Last season the Dale finished in fourth and were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the playoffs by Southend.
Thus far this season they have been in similar form and find themselves in third with 15 games played and 37 points accrued. They are also four games unbeaten in the league, with the latest fixture being a 3-1 away win over Boston United.
Similarly, York also finished in the playoffs last season and were dumped out early in the semi-finals by a 3-0 loss to eventual winners Oldham Athletic. The Minstermen are, however, not reflecting last year's aptitude that saw them finish second. Instead, they are in sixth with 33 points and find themselves just four points away from automatic semi-final qualification spots.
York are also doing very well in the league recently, with six matches unbeaten, including eight goals scored across their 4-2 win over Eastleigh and 4-0 victory against Gateshead.
A win for either could prove vital, with York looking to cement their place in the top seven and Rochdale looking to make up ground by entering the top spot and giving themselves the opportunity for a healthy buffer with just fifteen matches played compared to eighteen, which the teams above them have played.

Thursday 13th November, UEFA World Cup Qualification, England v. Serbia, 19:45
The Three Lions are back with World Cup qualification action in Group K as Serbia take the long trip to Wembley to face the already qualified England.
Tuchel’s men have done valiantly in their qualification campaign with a 100% record and zero goals conceded thus far. In fact, the Three Lions have not conceded a goal since August, when they were beaten 3-1 by Senegal.
That was the only loss suffered in 11 matches, and since then they have looked impervious, including their latest result, which was a 5-0 away win over Latvia.
Serbia is eight points behind England and one point away from second place, which would secure a spot in the next stage of qualification. They have been inconsistent in qualification recently with back-to-back losses to England and Albania, a result which meant the Albanians leapfrogged them in the table and has the Serbians chasing progress rather than defending.
As previously mentioned, the last time the two sides met ended in an England win, and it was the same before that when in 2024 England won again 1-0.
This match will certainly mean more for Serbia, as they still have a job to do, but for England it will be a good test for those wanting to be on the plane in 2026, and hopefully Tuchel will have an issue with who to bring, with plenty of players showing their worth so far in the qualification campaign.

Friday 14th November Premiership Rugby Cup Sale Sharks v Exeter Chiefs 19:45
Switching to Rugby Union now, we have a Premiership Rugby cup clash between two sides with very differing cup fortune as compared to the league.
Sale have been inconsistent in the league with two wins and three losses, which has them on 12 points in seventh place. They have suffered two straight losses in the league with a 65-14 rout to Saracens and a closely fought 36-35 loss to Leicester Tigers.
In the cup they have been much more proficient, with, whilst still inconsistent, one loss and one win, which has them in second on seven points and two points clear from dropping from the semi-final playoff places.
Exeter, on the other hand, are at the bottom of their cup group, similarly with one win and one loss but without the try bonus points needed to make a dent. In contrast, they are doing much better in the Premiership, with just one loss to Bristol and a draw to Northampton being their only dent in what has been a steady season.
They are coming into this on good form with back-to-back heavy victories against Gloucester and a devastating 38-0 win over Harlequins. When the two sides have met, it has been mixed results, with Sale winning three of the last four, but prior to that, Exeter had the rub of the green with three back-to-back wins in 2023 alone.

Venue: Salford Community Stadium
