Graduates interested in careers in management, engineering, catchment management and digital services are being targeted by United Utilities which has announced that its graduate scheme is now open for new applications.

The application window is open until 13 December 2020 and this year the number of available roles on offer has been increased to 24.

The starting salary for new graduates joining the water firm is £28,500 plus a range of additional benefits. These include a £2,000 welcome bonus, 26 days holiday, private healthcare, discounted gym memberships, vehicle breakdown cover, Cycle to Work scheme, flexible holidays and membership of its award-winning pension scheme.

Graduates are supported to achieve industry and professional qualifications related to their sector and are eligible to join the company’s employee share plan. Managers, mentors and buddies are on hand to help graduates get to grips with their new roles.

Applicants can learn more about the schemes by clicking on the following link: https://www.unitedutilities.com/corporate/careers/early-careers/graduates/

Ian Lawson, United Utilities’ recruitment manager, said: “We work hard to create a real community feel for our graduates so they can learn from each other, socialise and take on challenges together. And there's support from senior level managers to help them achieve their potential.

“Young people joining our graduate scheme will be joining a work environment with a huge range of sites across the North West, from the magnificent lakes of Cumbria to the city life of Manchester and Liverpool, and roles as diverse as our locations.

“As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from everyone. We always recruit the best person for the job but we’re also keen to reflect within our company the diversity of the communities that we serve.”
