Victory Leisure Homes Shortlisted In UK’s Largest Manufacturing Award

Victory Leisure Homes, the luxury holiday homes manufacturer based in East Yorkshire, joins some of Britain’s top manufacturing companies to be shortlisted in this year’s Manufacturer MX Awards 2021.

Victory, which has trebled its production in the past 18 months, has been shortlisted in the Product Innovation & Design category for the very first time.

Steve Bulliment, who was appointed as Victory’s head of research and innovation in 2019, is leading the company’s innovation drive and said of the shortlist announcement: “It’s testament to the investment we have made in technology and innovation that we’ve been shortlisted in these prestigious and rigorous awards.

“The holiday homes industry is – rightly or wrongly – often considered to be lacking in innovation. But in just six months, the Victory team redesigned, reconfigured and re-engineered a whole new line consisting of six new holiday homes, each with several derivatives in size and specification.

“My role in itself is a challenge to ‘the norm’. It’s my job to keep asking questions, seeking out inspiration and looking at the design and manufacturing process with a critical eye, turning as many ‘traditional’ processes on their head and allowing space for real innovation. It’s something we’re really prioritising and investing heavily in now, as we truly see the value - as do our customers. To be shortlisted in the Product Innovation & Design category sets us out as an ‘innovation-first’ company, and that’s exactly where we want to be.”

Gary Corylon, MD of Victory Leisure Homes, added: “It’s the first time we’ve been shortlisted in the Manufacturing MX Awards, and we’re up against some stiff competition, so we’re very proud to have been shortlisted. As it stands, the business is on track to deliver significant unit production growth and with our continued investment in the research and innovation team, it’s a truly exciting time to be part of Victory.”

The next stage of the judging process will see members of the panel virtually ‘visit’ Victory Leisure Homes’ factories to see the innovation ‘in action’ for themselves, alongside a presentation from the team.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in November.
