The Human League Celebrate Iconic Album With A New Tour - Dare You Miss It?
Can you believe that in 2021 it will be 40 years since The Human League released their iconic album
Dare? If you do remember the original release of the album like me, you probably saw one of their live shows around the album's release.
The album contained four hit singles including the Number 1 song
Don't You Want Me which was also the Christmas number 1 song in 1981. Other tracks on the album that were released as singles were
Love Action, The Sound of the Crowd, Open Your Heart and
The Things That Dreams Are Made Of.
The Sheffield band that are led by Philip Oakley really took the group on to huge commercial success after recruiting female vocalists Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of the album the Sheffield group have announced a tour which also features on the bill the Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey and Altered Images.
Thompson Twins regularly toured in the mid 80's and I saw the band many times from Leeds University right through to Lancaster University - if you were at any of these gigs you will surely be looking to hear again hits such as
Love On Your Side, Hold Me Now and
Doctor Doctor.
Altered Images fronted by Clare Grogan will always be remembered for the hit Happy Birthday but let's not forget their other hits
Don't Talk About Love and
I Could Be Happy. I saw the Scottish band in Halifax a few years ago and they were still as youthful as ever.
Dates for The Human League Dare 40 tour in 2021 are as follows:
Friday 3 December - Leeds Arena
Monday 6 December - Hull Bonus Arena - Thompson Twins not appearing
Friday 10 December - Manchester Arena
