Staybridge Suites, Liverpool
If you have ever been to Liverpool you will know that as well as there being plenty to see parking can be a problem. Thankfully if you happen to stay at the Staybridge Suites then parking is available in the underground carpark on a first come first served basis.
After surviving the nightmare traffic jams that seem to dodge Liverpool city centre it was a delight to discover this haven of tranquility, which is just a hop away from the M&S Bank Arena and minutes away from Albert Dock.
Catching the lift from the underground carpark takes you to the reception area, where we were welcomed with a friendly face. Check in was quick and easy. It made the memories of the journey seem less stressful.
From Monday to Wednesday night the hotel holds an event called The Social - you might need to attend after experiencing the traffic! From 6.30pm for an hour complimentary drinks, including wines and beer, along with fruit juices are offered on a serve yourself basis. If you fancy a nibble then there are crisps, ham and cheeses and bread too.
The suites themselves are quite spacious with a small kitchen area including a kettle, fridge, hob and microwave oven. If you have forgotten your tea bags don't worry as they supply tea bags and coffee pouches. Mind you, there is a coffee machine in the dining area downstairs where you can get a free coffee 24 hours.
Kitchen area
The beds are comfortable, plenty of storage space in the wardrobe, which also had an iron and ironing board in there. Plenty of plug in points too including USB ports. The Wi Fi was fast but you might find locating the Wi Fi password on your TV a bit fiddly.
The bathroom has a detachable shower and the water pressure was sufficient to give a strong burst of water. If you are lucky you might get a room that overlooks the Liverpool Big Wheel.
What was most impressive though was that everything in the suite was clean with not a speck of dust anywhere.
Buffet breakfast
Breakfast is included in the room rate and is a gourmet buffet of hot and cold food with plenty of choice, including vegetarian sausages. There is enough there to set you up for the day. You might also like to use the on site gym if you have eaten too much.
It felt a homely place with helpful staff who I observed treated everyone the same. The suites are located in a quiet area and it is somewhere I would definitely return to again, just don't mention the traffic though!
