Specialist Fair Promises Unique Designs

Bradford’s ever-popular Saltaire Makers Fair returns to Victoria Hall next Sat 16 & Sun 17 September, as part of the final weekend of the Saltaire Festival.

Victoria Hall will be filled with 48 top designer-makers from across the UK, showcasing a range of quality handmade contemporary craft and design that you won’t find on the high street.

For this event, 50% of the exhibitors are brand new to the specialist fair, and organisers Saltaire Inspired say they’ve made sure that the event includes new designer-makers, promising lots of fresh ideas.

Makers Fair Producer Samantha Pickard explains: “We work with a panel of independent curators to select the exhibitors for each Makers Fair, so that the range of contemporary craft that we offer remains fresh, varied and interesting, and for next weekend’s event, half of the exhibitors are exhibiting with us for the first time.

“We are excited to welcome them to Saltaire and to our fair, which has a reputation for presenting the best quality contemporary craft from across the UK!”.

Showcasing a range of ceramics, textiles, jewellery, print, glass, wood, metal and mixed media, there will be a huge range of high-quality, beautifully handmade work on offer.

Visitors will have the opportunity to chat with the makers themselves, watch demonstrations and to browse, buy or even commission something special for themselves.

Saltaire Makers Fair is open from 11am – 5pm on Saturday 16 September and 10am – 4pm on Sunday 17 September. Entry is £3 (under 16’s free).

Information on the event and all exhibitors can be found at the Saltaire Inspired website - www.saltaireinspired.org.uk.
