Searches For ‘Vegan Haggis Recipe’ Explode 1281% On The Day Of Burns Night

Analysis of Google search data reveals that online searches for “Vegan Haggis Recipe” exploded 1281% in the United Kingdom on 25th January 2022, the day of Burns Night.

Analysis by kitchen experts Maxima Kitchen Equipment reveals that online interest for vegan friendly Haggis recipes skyrocketed to almost 14 times the average volume in one day as celebrations for Burns Night begin.

A spokesperson from Maxima Kitchen Equipment commented on the findings:
"Burns Night is one of the biggest days in the Scottish calendar, where the country celebrates the Scottish poet, Robert Burns. The Burns Supper honours the famous Scottish dish, Haggis, which is a sheep’s stomach stuffed with sheep liver, heart, and lungs minced and mixed with suet, oatmeal, and onions and seasoned with spices.

“These findings show the growing interest for a vegan-friendly Haggis to have as an alternative for the traditional night. This could be because of Scottish people trying their hand at Veganuary where they eat a vegan diet for the month of January. Considering the classic haggis is made with mainly animal ingredients, it will be hard to find alternatives. A few alternatives to the minced meat include protein rich foods such as lentils and beans, plus some nuts and seeds to add texture."
