Scarborough 'Lift' Re-Opens Today

Today sees Scarborough Spa enter the second phase of its reopening with the venue’s cliff lift back in operation from this weekend.

After a period of maintenance, testing, staff recruitment and training The UK’s first evere funicular lift reopens at 10am today.

The lift will be initially in operation on Saturdays and Sundays between 10am-4pm before opening 7 days a week from The Spring Bank Holiday.

The venue’s Bar and Restaurant, Farrer’s, also continues its phased reopening with a new outdoor seating area.

Located on The Spa Terrace with great views across South Bay, alfresco dining will be available on weekends between 9am-4pm with hot food being served until 3pm.

Internal dining returns from Saturday 22 May 2021 whilst applying the rule of six/two household Government rule for meeting inside.

It is hoped Stage 4 of the Government’s plan which has a current date of 21 June will allow the venue to reopen its entertainment areas at full capacity with the likes of Jimmy Carr, Status Quo’s Francis Rossi, Little Mermaid The Musical and a number of tribute shows already scheduled to perform this Summer.
