Recognising The Best Performers In The Savings Market
Now in their ninth year, the Savings Champion Awards have grown over that time to become one of the "most sought-after awards in the savings industry".
The awards show recognition in a range of savings categories from easy access, fixed rate bonds and cash ISAs to the best ethical savings accounts to choose from. They are the only awards that focus solely on savings, giving this key area of the market the focus that savers deserve. And it’s not all about competitive rates, the awards also give important consideration to service for savers with the ’Award for Customer Service’.
A spokesperson said: "It’s no secret that savers have had another tough year, but are we on the brink of change for the better? With increasing sentiment from providers that next year will see more aggressive pricing in a bid to pull in new savers things may be looking up for savers. There is also the possibility of a number of base rate increases that are highly anticipated.
More aggressive pricing is unlikely to include the high street providers, who are still paying virtually nothing, so it’s time to call out those who have given and will hopefully continue to give at least something back to support our struggling savers. For providers, winning an award is a powerful accolade, while for savers our awards are a clear way to identify the best accounts and providers in the savings market."
The big winners this year include Shawbrook Bank, who have won a total of five awards - rivalling last year’s big winner UBL who have themselves had another good showing, winning four awards! Shawbrook’s haul includes our prestigious ‘Best Savings Provider’ Award as well as 'Best Cash ISA Provider' and 'Best Savings Provider for Existing Customers'.
Other big winners include Yorkshire Building Society, who have taken home our ‘Best Building Society’ Award, Charter Savings Bank, who have won 3 awards including our ‘Award for Customer Service’ and Zopa, who have made a strong entrance to the Savings Champion Awards for the first time this year, winning three awards including ‘Best New Savings Provider’.
The judging process is independent, comprehensive and detailed and involves weekly reviews of the savings market for each category throughout the year.
The judging of all of our awards is undertaken with the same level of rigour that we apply to all aspects of our business, which means that these awards are given solely on merit.
