The winners of the Great British Food Awards 2025 have been revealed, and the team from Lovingly Artisan Bakery, based at Plumgarths near Kendal, is celebrating after securing accolades in two national categories.
In the Savoury Biscuits category, Lovingly Artisan’s Northern Blisscuits received a Bronze award, judged by the legendary Raymond Blanc OBE – chef-patron of two Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, renowned TV personality, and celebrated authority on food.
Meanwhile, in the Sweet Biscuits category, the bakery’s Ginger & Barley Biscuits also scooped a Bronze award, with judging led by Georgie Grasso, Great British Bake-Off winner and popular TV baker.
Founded in 2014, the Great British Food Awards shine a spotlight on the country’s most outstanding artisanal food and drink producers, spanning categories from flavoured gins to fine cheeses. This year’s judging panel featured some of the UK’s most respected chefs, critics, and influencers, including Simon Rogan, Sally Abé, Nina Matsunaga, Dan McGeorge, Vivek Singh, and Seema Pankhania – giving entrants the rare opportunity to have their products assessed by the nation’s top culinary voices.
Catherine Connor, co-owner of Lovingly Artisan Bakery, commented: “To be recognised in not one, but two categories at the Great British Food Awards is an incredible honour for our team. These awards are a celebration of the very best in UK food and drink, and for us, they represent a chance to showcase our craft, creativity, and commitment to innovation. Having our biscuits judged by such an esteemed panel, including some of the UK’s most influential chefs and critics, is both humbling and thrilling, and the entire team is over the moon.’’
With a growing reputation for pushing the boundaries of flavour and craftsmanship, Lovingly Artisan Bakery continues to put the North West on the map for world-class baking.
