New Bradford District Visitor Guide Launched

A brand new Visitor Guide has been launched to inspire Bradford bound tourists as well as those living, working and studying in the district, to explore the area and make the most of their visits.

Twenty thousand of the guides, backed by the Council’s tourism service, Visit Bradford, are being distributed throughout the city district, nationally through Visitor Information Centres, at selected Travelodge and Premier Inn hotels and at motorway service stations.

The comprehensive guide, which encompasses the whole of the Bradford district, from the city centre to Haworth and Bronte Country, Ilkley and UNESCO World Heritage Site Saltaire, is packed with ideas of where to go, what to see and where to eat.

It is also available online at www.visitbradford.com/visitor-information.

Latest statistics for Bradford, from the annual Cambridge Report for 2018/19, show that tourism in the district is worth over £696million.

According to the report there were 12 million trips to the district and £696.3 million was spent in the local area as a result of tourism which is up from £680.6m during 2017/18. The report also shows that there are 14,882 jobs supported by tourism in the district.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Healthy People and Places, said: “This new guide really showcases the fantastic things that there are to see and do in the district which is going from strength to strength in terms of tourism, certainly a growing industry for us.”
