‘James Bond’ Hotel Re-opens With Special Offer

DUKES LONDON, the hotel famous for its James Bond inspired cocktail, has reopened for business with a ‘post-shutdown’ offer designed to welcome back loyal guests and first-timers alike.

The Edwardian country house in the heart of Mayfair and just a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, is redolent of a time when artists and writers rubbed shoulders with royalty in fashionable St. James’.

Now, people with a penchant for panache, have a one-off opportunity to sample the excessive luxury of Dukes London, with a three for the price of two nights offer or even a four for three if there’s lots of exploring to be done in the Big Smoke!

And, as well as a hotel to (live and let) die for – this editor has been lucky enough to review it! – visitors can check out Dukes Bar, the place where Ian Fleming is said to have taken his inspiration for the Vesper Cocktail, as mentioned in his 1953 novel Casino Royale. These days it is called the Dukes Vesper......a subtle nod to the world’s greatest spy!

During its reopening, DUKES will be offering a reduced restaurant service, and GBR (Great British Restaurant) will remain closed. However, breakfasts, afternoon tea and light dinners will all be available both in-room and in the very-English drawing room.

DUKES Bar is currently open five days a week – from Tuesday to Saturday and 3pm-10pm, with a reduced capacity and walk-in basis only: no bookings available. From 14th September the bar will extend its opening hours Monday-Saturday 3pm – 11pm.
