Hollywood Undead - New Empire (BMG Records)

Things haven't really changed on the sixth album from Los Angeles rap/rock act Hollywood Undead. The hardcore verses lead way to very melodic choruses that are hard to forget. You could say acts such as Linkin Park have done this all before and they have but the production on this new album from Matt Good gives it, at times a glossy production.

Things start off well with Time Bomb, it has the anger and attitude as the band sing that "something's gotta change" and you can just imagine the mosh pit at the front of the stage as they perform this energetic track. The bomb certainly explodes on this track.

Other stand out tracks include Enemy which mixes Thrash metal with a chorus that has more hooks than a Hull trawlerman's fishing net and the best track on the album - Upside Down. The band might live their lives Upside Down but here they are on top form.

Good Charlotte singer Benji Madden joins in on Second Chances but the sound is still the same: energetic, bold and brash.

They might not win over any new fans with this album but the faithful will not be disappointed.

I rate the album 3 out of 5.
