Great British Bake Off contestant Karen Wright is teaming up with family-run business Writers Retreat in Beal, North Yorkshire, to host two informal afternoon workshops with lunch.

Baker, cook and Yorkshire lass Karen has recently published her first book, the beautifully illustrated Meals on the Move: A Campsite Cooking Journey. Candid diary entries over 200 pages take readers through the fun, stunning scenery and highs and lows of the tour, while recipes provide the details needed for easy, delicious meals local to the region or country visited.

In her workshops with Writers Retreat, badged Freshly baked and self-taught: My journey in books and baking, Karen will take guests through the highs and lows of her own journey, including how she found the resilience to pursue her dream while balancing numerous challenges.

Karen said: "I'm really excited to share my story at Writers Retreat’s beautiful venue in Yorkshire. Jan, herself an established writer, set up Writers Retreat four years ago after being unable to find the kind of experience she was looking for. She has run the Retreat as a passion business ever since.
