EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Velazquez, Chats To Jeremy Williams-Chalmers

Jesus Correderas, AKA Velazquez, is an independent artist-producer who blends Indie Dance with Synthpop and Flamenco, adding a new playful flavour to the genre while captivating his audience with retro-futuristic and gaming aesthetics. Velazquez combines popular synthesizers from the 80s with flamenco guitar loops and computerized sounds. Poolside Stranger Thing vibes at times, at others Game Boy and 8-bits feels. We are thrilled to have the privilege of premiering his latest single, Disco Dancing!, and to have a quick chat with him about the release...

Hi Velazquez, first of all, how are you?

I am good thanks! Very pleased to be here. Excited about what is coming and feeling especially creative during these times.

Thank you for allowing us to premiere Disco Dancing! if you had to describe the single in 5 words, what would they be?

I may say summer feel good disco vibes.

Comparisons are inevitable in the industry. If you had to file it between two artists, who would they be?

I consider I am somewhere in between Paco Versailles and SG Lewis.

What are your ambitions for the single?

I feel positive and I really think Disco Dancing! has the potential to bring my music career to a higher level. However, what would really fulfill me is people adding this track to their holiday playlists, and listening to it on the beach while they’re having a good time.

Can we expect to see you on the road any time soon?

I am working towards performing these songs live, but I am very ambitious and want to make sure I prepare a remarkable show before this happens. I really appreciate people coming to my gigs, and so I want to guarantee that they will have a memorable time.

And finally, if you could hear the single covered by one artist, who would you love to rework it?

A remix by Purple Disco Machine would be amazing on this one and I can almost hear it in my mind already!
