Cruise Chiefs Sends Personal Message - Fred Olsen

Cruiseline chief, Fred Olsen Jnr, has sent out a personal message to thousands of customers who have been sailing the world with his long-established line: hang in there, we'll be back!

He said: "Like many others, you may have chosen to spend your summer holiday this year closer to home instead of cruising with us. We’ve really missed you!

"Over the past few months, my team and myself have been very busy planning our return to cruising. As always, we have focused on the future and we have two new ships, Bolette and Borealis which are very much part of our exciting plans for 2021.

"Both vessels are more spacious and will allow us to replicate some old favourites such as the Morning Light Pub, The Grill, the Oriental Room, Bookmark Café and others. Not only do these new ships demonstrate our confidence in the cruise market but they represent our commitment to you, our guests, that we have a long term future in meeting your travel and holiday needs. You will be able to make a booking on our new ships from this September."

He said that currently, the two new ships were in technical refit in Rotterdam.

"They will soon be joining Braemar and Balmoral in Rosyth in Scotland for further work where they will be ‘awarded’ their new Fred. Olsen livery and we will bring them into the Fred. Olsen family and brand, our intimate cruising experience - our guest friendly crew - our world renowned cuisine.

"We will be announcing new and exciting itineraries in the near future to add to our existing schedule of destinations. We can also announce that Bolette will be taking over MV Boudicca’s itineraries from Dover and Borealis will be taking over MV Black Watch’s sailing plans from Liverpool.

"And of course if you have already booked on one of these vessels your booking will automatically be transferred. I can also share with you today that we intend for Braemar and our new ships to start sailing from March and April 2021, and Balmoral even sooner!

"While we have been in Rosyth we have taken the opportunity to carry out refreshment and reconditioning works to Braemar and Balmoral.

"Without you there is no vibrancy, no life or fun on board. We therefore look forward to taking good care of you when you start to travel with us again early next year. That’s what we do best.

"I can’t let this opportunity pass without thanking you for your previous support and I hope that you will want to come cruising again and continue to be part of the future of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.

"With my best regards to you and your family."
