Halifax business Covéa Insurance this week learnt its Chief Technology and Information Officer, Graeme Howard, has risen up the ranks in the 2020 CIO 100 rankings, and is now placed at No 11 in the UK. The CIO 100 recognises the most transformational and disruptive CIOs, showcasing leaders who are driving change within their organisations.

Graeme Howard was appointed by Covéa Insurance in February 2019 to lead a digital transformation programme designed to make insurance easier for customers. Building on Covéa Insurance’s track record for innovative market offerings, Howard has been on a mission to develop digital products and services that will enable the company to meet the needs of the firm’s customers today and in the future.

Recognition of his impact comes just months after the Covéa Insurance won the prestigious title of ‘Best Place to Work in Digital’ at the 2020 Digital Technology Leader’s Awards.

Speaking about the CIO 100 ranking, Graeme Howard said: "It’s a really exciting time to be leading such an ambitious transformation with the massive opportunities created by digital innovation and the rapid acceleration of digital adoption both by companies and individuals. The rankings are an interesting reflection on our progress to date, but we have many more exciting developments in the pipeline for 2021 and beyond. Technology and digital tools will play a huge part to play in helping us to achieve our ultimate goal which is to make insurance easier for customers at every stage, whether buying a product that’s right for them or making a claim."
