Coffee Roaster Launches Fourth Coffee In Its Recyclable Capsule Range

Lake District coffee roaster John Farrer & Co launched its range of 100% recyclable coffee capsules in 2019. As part of the Kendal coffee roaster's ongoing development of their product ranges it has just unveiled the fourth coffee in their Nespresso® compatible 100% recyclable aluminium coffee capsule range.

The new coffee joining the range is a Lungo, made from a specially selected blend of coffees carefully sourced from Guatemala, Brazil, and Ethiopia. Each has been specially chosen to complement the other when roasted and to provide the optimal flavour extraction when used on the Lungo setting on your Nespresso® coffee machine. Delivering a well-rounded and balanced coffee each and every time.

Lungo is literally the Italian word for long, and that pretty much sums it up this coffee. Essentially the difference is that a Lungo takes up a little more room in your cup. The flavour from your coffee is extracted in the same way but because the process involves a little more water volume the resulting coffees tend to be a little milder in body whilst maintaining flavour and intensity.

The new Lungo coffee joins Farrer’s existing capsule range, which includes:

Colombian - Sourced from the famous Huila region in Colombia this coffee is wonderfully bright and fruity, with notes of toffee apple and blackcurrant.

Intense – Is an intense and complex blend of coffees, with hints of roasted nut, dark cocoa, and sweet cedar wood.

Decaf – This unique blend of decaffeinated beans, which delivers a rich medium bodied blended coffee with notes of nut and chocolate.

The Farrer’s capsules are compatible with Nespresso® coffee machines and are available directly through the Farrer’s website, where they are currently available for just £12.99 instead of the normal £15.99 for four packs (40 pods).

Farrer’s, Dave Walsh, commented: "We are very pleased with this latest addition to our Coffee Pod range, which has been delayed by the Pandemic, Farrer’s Lungo fills a gap in the range for a longer drink. As a company we take some time and great care to research the coffees we use to create our pod range, as well as sourcing the best recyclable materials with which to create the actual capsules. This is why we chose to use an aluminium system, because it’s genuinely 100% recyclable in domestic settings and also has excellent properties when it comes to maintaining the integrity and quality of the coffees in our capsule range.’’
