Celebrate With Some Festive Christmas Cocktails

Christmas along with other festive occasions is a great time to treat yourself, together with friends and family, to a lovely cocktail made with the many varieties of Slingsby Gins.

I enjoy all varieties of Slingsby Gin but their new variety of Blackberry Gin launched in the autumn has become one of my all time favourites.

If you favour a warm drink to keep out the cold then you could even try a Slingsby Marmalade Gin incorporating mulled wine and sugar syrup, served warm with cloves and a spiced cinnamon stick.

Another winter warmer is Mulledberry Gin which is a cocktail served warm in a latte glass or mug also incorporating sugar syrup, apple juice, port with cloves and a cinnamon stick.

Here are some of the cocktail recipes for you to try:

Bramble 75

Ingredients:

25ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
15ml lemon juice
10ml sugar syrup
Prosecco top


Method:

Shake and double strain into a champagne flute.
Top with the Prosecco.
Garnish with a blackberry.

Naughty or Nice


Ingredients:

35ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
15ml Passion Fruit Liqueur
10ml Vanilla Syrup
25ml Clementine Juice
10ml Lime Juice


Method:

Shake all ingredients with ice and double strain into a chilled martini glass.
Serve with a shot of Prosecco
Garnish with a dehydrated orange wheel or even a brandy snap!

Sleighbell Sling

Ingredients:

15ml Slingsby London Dry Gin
10ml Cherry Brandy
15ml Orange Juice
5ml Lime Juice
5ml Sugar Syrup
Prosecco Top


Method:

Shake the gin, juices and sugar syrup with ice and double strain into a chilled flute.
Top with prosecco and drizzle with the cherry brandy.
Garnish with an edible gold leaf.

Comets Cosmo

Ingredients:

35ml Slingsby Vodka
15ml Cointreau
50ml Cranberry Juice
25ml Lime Juice
15ml Cinnamon Syrup

Method:

Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Add some festive fun and garnish with a candy cane!

Pear Tree

Ingredients:

25ml Slingsby Gooseberry Gin
50ml Pear Cider
50ml Cloudy Apple Juice


Method:

Build in a chilled flute glass
Garnish with a slice of fresh pair or a candied pair.

Santa’s Martini

Ingredients:

30ml Slingsby Rhubarb Gin
25ml Strawberry Liqueur
25ml Lemon Juice
1 Egg White

Method:

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously to create a foam.
Fine strain into a martini glass.
Option: Garnish with red currents.

Mulledberry Gin

Ingredients:

35ml Slingsby Blackberry Gin
50ml port
100ml apple juice
10ml sugar syrup
Orange slice
2 cloves
1 Small cinnamon stick


Method:

In a pan, gently heat the above to simmer.
Serve warm in a latte glass or mug
Garnish with an orange slice.

Mulled Marmalade

Ingredients:

25ml Slingsby Marmalade Gin
70ml Quality Cider
20ml Lemon Juice
Cinnamon Stick
Cloves
Nutmeg
Star Anise



Method:

Combine all ingredients into a glass and top up with boiled water.
To create a batch, combine ingredients into a pan
Add water and heat until the desired flavour is reached.
Garnish with an orange wheel.
