Budget Airline Launches ‘Yorkshire’ Channel Island Service

Budget airline, Wizz Air UK, is launching its first ever domestic flight to Jersey out of Doncaster Sheffield Airport

Beginning next month on July 9th, the flights will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, with one way fares starting from £17.99. Tickets are available now at www.wizzair.com or from the airline’s app.

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands archipelago and is largely uncrowded, unspoilt and teeming with natural beauty: it boasts sandy beaches and aquamarine waters.

Owain Jones, Managing Director of Wizz Air UK, said: “The Wizz Air UK team is working hard to ensure that summer 2021 is not cancelled, by continuing to provide low-fare flights to the destinations that our UK customers love to travel to.

“After an extremely challenging year we know that our customers are looking to get away for some sunshine and relaxation. Jersey has it all: uncrowded beaches, natural beauty and rich history.

“We are looking forward to offering our customers in Doncaster Sheffield and Cardiff, where we will soon open our new base, the opportunity to explore Jersey and the surrounding Channel Islands.”

Wizz Air, the fastest growing European low-cost airline, operates a fleet of 140 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.

The company was recently named one of the world's top ten safest airlines by airlineratings.com, the world's only safety and product rating agency.
