And They're Off! First Ever Yorkshire Pudding Race

On your marks, get set, go! To celebrate Yorkshire Day on Sunday 1st August, the UK’s first ever Yorkshire Pudding River Race has been created by two iconic Yorkshire brands: Heart Yorkshire and Aunt Bessie’s.

This one-off race will see 250 Aunt Bessie’s Glorious Golden Yorkshires being released into the River Wharfe in Yorkshire, offering Yorkshire-based Heart listeners the chance to win a cash prize, a year’s worth of Yorkshires and other Aunt Bessie’s goodies.

Heart Yorkshire listeners who registered online will each be allocated one of the numbered floating Yorkshire Puddings. The winning Yorkshire Pudding that makes it across the finish line first will reward their listener with the coveted prize.

Dixie and Emma, Presenters at Heart Yorkshire, said:

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Aunt Bessie’s, an iconic Yorkshire brand that provides the country with delicious Yorkshire Puddings could take part in this first of a kind event. We can’t wait to see which of their puddings is the fastest down the river!”

Lauren Ward, Brand Manager at Aunt Bessie’s, commented:

“What better way to celebrate Yorkshire than with a traditional duck race but using our Yorkshire Puddings instead? As a Yorkshire-based business, it’s definitely the perfect way to celebrate Yorkshire Day all in the name of fun. Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire factory produces 639 million Yorkshire Puddings each year so we are definitely the perfect partner for the occasion!”
