To describe Shed Seven's 2024 as anything less than exceptional would be an understatement. Having kicked off the Year that marked the 30th anniversary of their debut album release, they finally climbed their way to the top spot of the album charts with the aptly titled and truly awesome A Matter Of Time. However, with subsequent shows proving that the group were definitely stronger than ever before, they topped their accolade by joining an elite club of artists to score two chart topping alums within a year, when their Greatest Hits reworked release, Liquid Gold, also reached the top spot!

To celebrate, the band will be re-releasing their aforementioned debut album, but in the interim they are on the road for a epic UK tour. Accompanied by upcoming Sheffield group The Sherlocks, the band are determined to celebrate in style.

With Birmingham's o2 Academy packed to the brim for The Sherlocks impressive set, it is clear that while Shed Seven are the main draw, the word on the street about the break out indie rockers being the next big thing had ensured Shed Seven's audience wanted in. And The Sherlocks did not disappoint. If was clear more than a few would be returning for their headline tour in 2025.

Taking to the stage with their normal chilled vibe, Shed Seven kick off a stunning set with the epic Room In My House. Clearly determined to enjoy every moment of their glorious year, Witter and friends are in finest form. They are playful and chatty, with the audience interaction proving as integral to the band as the audience themselves.

As they work through hits old and new, there is not one dull moment in their stellar set. While Rowetta makes a fleeting guest appearance and Izzy Ferris' vocals are used on the lush Waiting For The Catch, it is very clear that the audience are happiest when lost in Witter's quirky dancing and rich vocals.

From the explosion of In Ecstasy to the heart and soul of Going For Gold and Let's Go Dancing, this is a set that really excites with each twist and turn. However, it is in the closing of Chasing Rainbows that the raw emotion explodes across the floor in a stunningly connected moment.

Shed Seven may have 30 years under their belts, but tonight they proved they still have much more to offer.
